Interactive Node-Based Editor
Drag, select, connect and delete with interactions that feel native from the first click.
VisualFlow empowers developers and teams to transform complex ideas, workflows, and systems into beautiful, interactive visual experiences — flowcharts, workflow builders, AI agent graphs and diagram tools built on React Flow.
Foundations
React Flow is the open-source React library for node-based interfaces, maintained by XYFlow. It gives you an infinite, zoomable canvas where nodes are plain React components and edges are SVG connections — you own the data, the library owns rendering and interaction.
import { ReactFlow, Background, Controls } from "@xyflow/react";
import "@xyflow/react/dist/style.css";
const nodes = [
{ id: "1", position: { x: 0, y: 0 }, data: { label: "Trigger" } },
{ id: "2", position: { x: 200, y: 100 }, data: { label: "Action" } },
];
const edges = [{ id: "e1-2", source: "1", target: "2", animated: true }];
export default function Flow() {
return (
<div style={{ height: 480 }}>
<ReactFlow nodes={nodes} edges={edges} fitView>
<Background />
<Controls />
</ReactFlow>
</div>
);
}Product
A complete toolkit for node-based interfaces — from the first drag to graphs with thousands of elements.
Drag, select, connect and delete with interactions that feel native from the first click.
Any React component becomes a node. Design edges with labels, buttons and animations.
Compose triggers, conditions and actions into workflows your users can run and debug.
Stream data into nodes and watch graphs update live as your system changes.
Auto-layout with dagre or ELK, group nodes into sub-flows and snap to grid.
<ReactFlow
nodes={nodes}
nodeTypes={{ agent: AgentNode }}
onConnect={onConnect}
fitView
/>Typed APIs, CSS variables and hooks give you full control without fighting the library.
Render thousands of nodes smoothly with memoisation and visible-only rendering.
Works with your state manager, your styling system and your framework of choice.
Flowcharts
Classic flowcharts get superpowers when every shape is a React component: decision diamonds that branch, steps that expand on click, and contextual help rendered right inside the node.
Automation
Triggers, conditions and actions as nodes with typed handles, so users can only connect compatible steps. Serialize the graph as JSON and execute it on your backend in topological order — the pattern behind every great automation tool.
AI
Agent traces are already graphs — spans with parent ids. Render them live: stream token and tool status into node data and let users watch the agent reason, inspect each step's payload, and compare runs side by side.
Use cases
Teams use VisualFlow to power everything from AI agents to database designers — ten proven application patterns, each with its own diagram.
Zapier-style builders your users actually enjoy.
See how your agents think, step by step.
From source to warehouse, at a glance.
Document how work really flows.
Flowcharts that respond to clicks.
Living diagrams that never go stale.
Your ERD, editable and always accurate.
Make complex logic legible.
Explore connected ideas.
The canvas at the heart of your builder.
Customization
An API call with a method badge, a table with a handle per column, an AI step with a model picker — custom nodes are just React components. Custom edges are SVG paths with labels, buttons and animations.
function ApiNode({ data }) {
return (
<div className="api-node">
<Handle type="target" position={Position.Left} />
<span className="method">{data.method}</span> {data.path}
<Handle type="source" position={Position.Right} />
</div>
);
}
const nodeTypes = { api: ApiNode };Layout
Hand-placed nodes break down past a few dozen elements. Layout engines compute positions from the graph's structure so generated diagrams stay readable.
Examples
Every example is a live, interactive canvas with source code — managed through our CMS and ready to explore.
Watch an AI agent route a prompt through a planner, tools and a final answer — every step a node.
A Zapier-style automation: webhook trigger, filter, transform and a Slack notification.
Deals flow through pipeline stages — drag a deal node between stage columns to update it.
An entity-relationship diagram where every table is a node and foreign keys are edges.
Learn
Structured guides that take you from your first canvas to production-grade editors — searchable, categorized and always up to date.
